My latest Al Jazeera English feature story reports on the increasingly difficult conditions for Palestinians living in occupied East Jerusalem. As Israel’s war on Gaza pressed on this summer, and after lynch mobs and vigilantes sprouted up, Palestinian residents of the city have been subjected to police and vigilante harassment alike.
More than 600 Palestinians have been arrested in the city since the June 2nd kidnapping and murder of 17-year-old Muhammad Abu Khdair, which sparked protests across the country.
Others spoke about their fear of speaking Arabic in public as anti-Arab groups prowl the streets.
